The site sits a short drive from Coleford, making it well within reach if you're camped at Greenacres, Whitemead Forest Park, or Bracelands. History enthusiasts will get far more from this than families with young kids - there's no safety railings, it's not particularly dramatic, and you'll spend maybe thirty minutes poking around unless you're genuinely interested in Victorian mining techniques. Wear proper boots because the ground is uneven and can be damp.
