About Bishop's Seat
On a clear day you're looking at the Cumbraes, Bute, and if you're lucky, the Arran peaks. The summit itself is fairly exposed, so wind can be a genuine factor even when the forecast looks promising. Bring layers and something windproof.
This is absolutely the walk for anyone staying at Hunters Quay Holiday Village or The Secret Glen Campsite who fancies getting some elevation and views without needing a full expedition. It's also decent for older kids who can manage a couple of hours on their feet - toddlers and prams would be a non-starter. The path is well-trodden and reasonably clear, though muddy stretches after rain are guaranteed.
There's no visitor facility at the top, no cafe, nothing. Just views and silence. That's rather the point. The village of Dunoon itself has cafes where you can refuel before or after, which is useful because you'll want to.
Time it for afternoon and you'll catch better light on the water. Morning walks mean dealing with more crowds from other campsites in the area. Either way, allow three hours if you're not a regular fell-walker, and don't go if there's low cloud forecast - you'll spend your time in grey mist.
