Birkshaw Rig

The climb up Birkshaw Rig rewards you with views across the Lowlands that stretch for miles on a clear day. Biggar sits just south, making this a natural add-on if you're based in the area. The upside is it's far enough off the main tourist trail that you won't battle crowds. The downside is there's little infrastructure - no café, no facilities, just moorland and sky. Bring weather-appropriate kit and snacks.
