Beveridge Park

The walk up through Beveridge Park from Kinghorn takes you through proper woodland before opening out onto grassland with views across the Firth of Forth. It's a decent spot for an afternoon ramble, though don't expect dramatic scenery - the appeal is in the quiet rather than the spectacular.

This is where families with younger kids or anyone after a gentle stroll will get the most value. The paths are well-maintained and not demanding, so you're not wrestling with muddy terrain in January. History buffs might find the old mining heritage interesting - you can still see hints of Fife's industrial past if you look closely. The grassland areas are good for letting children run about without them disappearing into undergrowth.

The real win here is proximity to the holiday parks clustered around Kinghorn and Pettycur Bay. If you're based at Sandhills or Kinghorn Harbour Holiday Park, this is a natural pull for the morning before heading elsewhere. You can knock out a couple of hours easily, which fits neatly into a park holiday itinerary rather than demanding a full day.

Timing matters. Early morning or late afternoon sees fewer people, and the light across the water is better. Weekends get busier with locals. There's no admission fee that we can find, and you can access it freely from Kinghorn town centre. Allow two to three hours if you're taking your time and actually stopping to look at things rather than marching straight through.
