Berry Hill

Standing at just 141 metres above sea level, Berry Hill might not sound impressive on paper, but this modest peak delivers surprisingly rewarding views across the Isle of Wight's rolling countryside. The summit, located just outside Newport, offers a proper sense of achievement without requiring mountaineering skills - perfect for families looking to tick off the island's highest accessible point without too much huffing and puffing.

Walkers will find the ascent gentle enough for most ages, though the final stretch does get your heart pumping a bit. From the top, you can spot the Solent stretching north and catch glimpses of the mainland on clear days. It's particularly lovely in late afternoon when the light catches the patchwork fields below.
