Beeford Methodist Church

A modest red-brick Methodist chapel standing quietly on the edge of Beeford, a few miles south of Driffield. The church dates back to 1822 and represents the kind of Victorian-era Nonconformist architecture you find scattered across Yorkshire - functional, dignified, utterly unpretentious. Inside, the original galleries and period fittings remain largely intact, which is genuinely rare.

This isn't a showstopper attraction, and it won't hold your attention for more than twenty minutes unless you're specifically interested in Methodist heritage or 19th-century chapel architecture. But if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Mill Farm Country Park or Mr Moo's Touring Site are both close by - and the weather's turned drizzly, it's worth a look. Access shouldn't be a problem during daylight hours, though you may need to phone ahead or check locally for specific opening arrangements. Driffield is the nearest town if you need facilities or a cup of tea afterwards. The surrounding countryside is pleasant for a walk, and Skipsea Sands Holiday Park sits just down the road if you fancy combining this with a coastal stop. Worth the detour only if Methodist architecture genuinely appeals to you - otherwise, keep it as a quick roadside pause between other activities.
