Bangly Hill

The walk up Bangly Hill takes about forty minutes if you're moving at a decent pace, and the views across East Lothian from the top are genuinely worth the effort. It's not a dramatic peak - nothing like the Highlands - but there's something satisfying about climbing to a proper viewpoint without needing scrambling skills or specialist kit.

On a clear day you can see right across the Lowlands, and the coast isn't far off either. The walk itself is straightforward, more of a steady climb than anything technical, so families with older kids will manage fine. Younger ones might find it a bit of a slog depending on their legs, though the sense of achievement at the top usually makes up for it.
