Wild winds whip across this exposed clifftop peak just south of Cardigan, where grass gives way to dramatic drops into Cardigan Bay. From the summit, the Pembrokeshire coastline unfolds in both directions - a proper sweep of headlands, hidden coves and the odd seal bobbing offshore. On clear days, you'll spot Bardsey Island across the water.

Walkers who don't mind a bit of scrambling will love this one. The approach from Mwnt beach involves a steep climb up rough paths, but the payoff is worth every huffed breath. Families with younger children might find the terrain challenging, though older kids will relish the adventure.

Allow two hours for the round trip from the nearest parking at Mwnt. Early morning visits often reward you with the best visibility before sea mist rolls in. The lack of any barriers means you'll need a head for heights - this isn't sanitised National Trust territory.

Staying at one of the campsites near Cardigan puts you perfectly placed for coastal exploration. Mwnt Camping sits closest to the base of the climb, while Cardigan Bay Holiday Park offers more facilities if you're after hot showers post-hike. The peak works brilliantly as part of a longer coastal walk, linking nicely with the Wales Coast Path that hugs this spectacular stretch of Pembrokeshire's wilder side.
