Ceredigion's rolling hills make this good base camp territory. Aberystwyth lies 20 minutes east for proper seaside action, while the Brecon Beacons beckon from the south. The A482 connects Lampeter to most places worth visiting, though expect single-track diversions if you're feeling adventurous.

Staying at nearby Canvas & Campfires or Treberfedd Farm Holiday Cottages makes sense for exploring mid-Wales without the premium prices of coastal spots. You're close enough to nip into town for supplies, but far enough out to enjoy proper countryside quiet once the students head to the pub.
