Would not recommend** The property certainly isn’t maintained well and was not like the pictures. The place needed a very good clean, the shower was rotten, hair in the fridge, half of the outside lights not working and rotten windows. Beautiful location and cabin however is in desperate need of a deep clean and tidy up! We paid extra for the butchers breakfast as it was stated there is a fully equipped kitchen however there was no frying pan to cook the meal. We stayed in the Wildflower Shepherds Hut for 2 nights with our dog, and wished we were staying longer! The mix of the clean modern hut and the beautiful natural surroundings made it a perfect little escape. Our dog felt very at home and enjoyed walks to Matfen village. And the hot tub was the luxury finishing touch, we even heard an owl hooting in the distance🦉

A beautiful shepherd’s hut in a lovely remote setting, great location with a nearby village and about 30 minutes drive to Newcastle city centre. I had the most wonderful stay here - the hosts are lovely and the hut is stocked with everything you need during your stay.
