Beinglas Campsite

Mixed experience at this campsite. The toilets and showers were in very poor condition — dirty, moldy doors, broken or jammed locks, and everything felt like it hadn’t been properly maintained in a long time. Stayed in the hut. Very very expensive for what it is and you have to pay additional for bedding (no towel included). The restaurant pub is good and the menu is probably the most decent we’ve seen on the WHW. The only thing - the women’s bathroom is really bad. Lukewarm showers, not the cleanest and very outdated. Had been through Beinglas a few years ago while walking the WHW, but not stayed until this week. Despite being a 'hub' for WHW walkers, it was still a really relaxing stay with a variety of accommodation options. I tried out a Tentbox! Great location, friendly staff and a good ‘vibe’ around the site. Nice pub with excellent food. Site let down a little by toilets / showers - need refresh and hot water at all times. Overall though positives outweigh any negatives.

The good: the location is perfect right on the west highland way, and the site has a great atmosphere with lots of space and gorgeous views. The bar is super handy after a long day on your feet to turn up and get food without having to faff and head elsewhere. The hiking hut was convenient meaning we didn’t have to carry a tent.
