Y Morfa Leisure Centre

Y Morfa is Conwy's main sports and leisure facility, sitting just inland from the seafront with easy access from Rhyl. It's the sort of place you'd visit if you're staying nearby and the weather turns, or if someone in your group fancies a swim or gym session without the faff of driving miles.

The centre houses a swimming pool - proper useful if you've got kids who need tiring out - along with gym equipment, sports halls, and various fitness classes. It's functional rather than fancy, the kind of local leisure complex that does its job well without pretension. The pool is the main draw, especially for families sticking around for a few days.

If you're camping at The Beach Caravan Park or Bron-y-Wendon Holiday Park, Y Morfa makes sense as a rainy-day option or for a quick swim before lunch. Don't expect spa facilities or anything elaborate - it's a working community sports venue, not a holiday resort in its own right. Allow an hour or two depending on what you're doing.

I'd say it's worth knowing about if you're holiday-park based in the area, but not worth a special trip on its own. The real draw of this stretch of North Wales coast is the beaches themselves and the walks around Conwy Castle. Y Morfa is just the backup plan when you need one.
