Wrong Side of the Tracks

The Wrong Side of the Tracks is Boomtown Fair's permanent art installation and cultural hub, a few miles outside Winchester. It's essentially a creative village space that grows and evolves throughout the year, hosting live music, workshops, markets, and all manner of counterculture events that wouldn't look out of place at the festival itself. The whole thing has a deliberately rough-around-the-edges aesthetic - think street art, salvaged materials, and a genuine sense that anything could happen here.

It's brilliant if you're into live music, art, and that alternative festival scene. Families with teenagers will get more from it than younger kids, though the café and craft activities keep things accessible. History buffs won't find much here - this is about contemporary culture, not heritage.

Allow a couple of hours if you're attending a specific activity, though you could easily spend a full afternoon if there's a market or performance on.

Camping nearby is dead easy. Winchester Morn Hill sits just a mile away, making it a natural base if you're combining a few days exploring the cathedral city with some time at Wrong Side of the Tracks. Holden Farm and the others at Hookpit Farm offer quieter alternatives if you fancy something slightly further out.
