World of David Walliams

David Walliams' theme park near Uttoxeter is essentially a celebration of the children's author and TV personality's characters and stories brought to life through rides, attractions and interactive experiences. You'll find yourself walking through themed lands based on his most popular books - think Mr Stink's world, the Gangsta Granny universe, and other Walliams classics. It's a fairly straightforward proposition: if your kids have grown up reading or watching his adaptations, they'll recognise the characters immediately. If they haven't, the appeal drops off considerably.

The park works best for families with children aged roughly five to twelve. Younger kids might find some experiences a bit intense, and teenagers will likely find it rather young for their tastes. Allow a full day to work through the main attractions without rushing, though a half-day visit is perfectly manageable if you're just doing the highlights.

Location-wise, you're right on the edge of Staffordshire, close enough to Uttoxeter for decent facilities but genuinely countryside all around. There are several holiday parks within a couple of miles - Lower Micklin Touring Park and Alton's Camping and Caravanning Club Site are practically on the doorstep, making this an easy base if you're planning a caravan holiday in the area. It combines well with visits to other regional attractions without feeling like you're driving for hours between stops.

Weather dependent, naturally. Summer holidays are heaving, but spring and autumn half-terms tend to be far more pleasant for actually moving between attractions without queuing for forty minutes.
