A proper walk through the woods near Doncaster, the Woodland Trail gives you exactly what it says on the tin - trees, fresh air, and a chance to stretch your legs without needing a degree in orienteering. The path winds through woodland that's genuinely pleasant, nothing flashy but solid enough for a morning or afternoon outing. You'll spot the usual suspects: birdsong, dappled light through the canopy, maybe a rabbit if you're lucky and quiet enough.

This is one for walkers more than sightseers. Families with young kids will manage it fine provided they're not expecting theme-park levels of excitement, and it's the sort of place where you actually walk rather than stand about taking photos. Allow a couple of hours if you're taking it slowly, less if you've got somewhere to be. There's something quite restorative about it, honestly - the kind of walk where you come back thinking you've actually done something rather than just burned time.

If you're based at Bawtry Caravan Park or one of the others nearby - Mooreacres or Sunnyview - this slots in nicely between breakfast and lunch, or as an evening leg-stretch before dinner. The proximity to Doncaster itself means you're not totally cut off if you need proper shops or a decent cafe. Worth doing if you're in the area and fancy a break from the static caravan, though it's not the sort of place you'd travel specifically for.
