Wolsingham Family Walk

The Wolsingham Family Walk is a proper country trail that loops through the rolling countryside between Wolsingham and Bishop Auckland, taking in some decent stretches of the Wear Valley. It's not dramatic - no cliff edges or mountain vistas - but it's honest walking through proper Durham landscape with enough variation to keep families engaged for a couple of hours.

You get riverside sections alongside the River Wear, patches of woodland, and open field walking with views back towards the valley. The path surface is mixed - some tarmac near the village, but mostly well-maintained dirt and grass tracks that stand up to wet weather reasonably well.
