Kids will spend a solid two to three hours here without complaint, especially if they're into wildlife documentaries or anything David Attenborough-adjacent. Older children and adults interested in British ecology will find it genuinely engaging. It's not as frantic as Colchester Zoo, which suits some families better.

Staying at one of the nearby parks - Seaview Holiday Park is closest at three miles - gives you easy access to Canterbury's cathedral and high street when you need a break from animal spotting. Wildwood fills a morning or afternoon nicely without eating your whole day. Spring and autumn are best; summer gets rammed with school groups.
