Whin Nill

Whin Nill is a proper woodland walk just outside Driffield, the sort of place that rewards you for leaving the main road. The forest itself is modest - nothing like the sprawling estates further north - but it's got enough character to make it worth a Saturday morning visit if you're based at Sea View Country Park or anywhere nearby.

You're walking through mixed woodland with decent tree coverage, the kind that feels genuinely peaceful rather than artificially managed. The paths are straightforward enough, no scrambling required, though they can get a bit squelchy after rain. Allow an hour at a leisurely pace, maybe ninety minutes if you're taking photos.
