West Rainton War Memorial

West Rainton's war memorial sits in the heart of a small pit village just outside Durham, a stark reminder of what this corner of County Durham gave during two world wars. Summer's probably best - it's less atmospheric in drizzle, though perhaps more appropriately solemn. Free to visit, naturally.
