Watkin's Spring South

A proper woodland walk rather than a manicured forest trail, Watkin's Spring South sits east of Stevenage and rewards those willing to venture off the main paths. The spring itself is the draw here - water that's been flowing through these woods for centuries, creating small pools and a genuine sense of being somewhere wild and largely untouched by crowds. You get decent woodland scenery with mixed trees and the kind of damp undergrowth that keeps things feeling alive rather than sterile.
