The concrete bowls and ramps at Waddington Skatepark aren't going to blow your mind with fancy features, but they do the job if you've got kids keen on wheels. It's a straightforward setup - proper local spot rather than a destination in itself. The park's free and open year-round, which makes it handy for a half-hour session when you're staying nearby.

Younger skaters and beginners will get more out of this than experienced riders. The layout suits learning the basics without too much intimidation, and the tarmac's decent enough. On a dry day in decent light it's worth dropping by, though I wouldn't plan your entire trip around it. Weather matters here - wet concrete and skateboarding don't mix, so check the forecast before heading out from Lincoln.

If you're camping at Hartsholme Country Park just up the road, Waddington's close enough for a quick visit without eating up half your day. The nearby Hartsholme site itself has proper grounds and facilities, so you could easily combine a morning at the skatepark with exploring the park's own attractions. Hanworth Country Park's further afield but still manageable if you're based there.

Families with non-skating kids might find twenty minutes is enough. The real value is having a free, accessible spot within easy reach of your holiday accommodation rather than driving an hour to find something grander.
