You're stood in front of a proper piece of Cold War history - a Vulcan bomber, the XH558, that actually flew operational sorties. This isn't a static museum piece gathering dust; it's the real deal, parked near Doncaster where you can walk right up to it and get a genuine sense of the sheer scale of these aircraft. The delta wing is enormous. Walking underneath it, you start to understand why crews felt confident flying these machines at low level across hostile territory.

You'll need about an hour to an hour and a half to do it justice. Check ahead for opening times before you go - it's not always staffed.
