It's mainly a place for a wander and a coffee, to be honest. The quays themselves are free to explore, and you can easily spend an hour or two poking around the independent shops, galleries, and cafes that line the water. There's a decent bit of public art dotted about, and the whole area's got that slightly aspirational vibe that regenerated urban waterfronts often have - some will love it, others might find it a bit try-hard. The canal-side walks are pleasant enough, especially if the weather's being cooperative.

Families with younger kids might get bored fairly quickly unless there's a specific reason to visit - a shop they want or an exhibition on. But if you're staying at Fox Hagg Farm Campsite or Wyming Brook Farm Campsite, it's easily worth an afternoon trip into Sheffield to see how the city's reinvented itself. The walk from the city centre takes about twenty minutes, and it breaks up a park holiday nicely if you need a bit of urban culture between the green spaces.
