Tullyard Hill

You can see three counties from the top of Tullyard Hill if the weather's kind - that alone makes the walk worthwhile. It's a proper modest peak by anyone's standards, but what it lacks in altitude it makes up for in views across the Mourne Mountains and down towards Newry and the surrounding countryside.

The walk itself is straightforward enough for most fitness levels, though the final push to the summit does bite a bit. Expect around an hour there and back from the car park, depending on your pace and how long you spend taking in the scenery. This is one for walkers who want results without spending half the day on their feet.

Historically, the hill has been used as a vantage point for centuries - that sense of looking out over the land from a strategic spot stays with you. It's not a destination that'll keep you occupied all afternoon, but it's an excellent addition to a Mourne Mountains walking itinerary.
