Tuffley Park Playground

The playground at Tuffley Park is the sort of place that keeps kids entertained for a good couple of hours without breaking the bank. It's a proper local spot just outside Gloucester, with decent climbing frames, swings, and slides spread across a decent-sized green space. Nothing fancy, but it does the job well.

For families with young children - say, under tens - this works a treat. The equipment is well-maintained and there's enough variety that boredom doesn't set in too quickly. Parents get a decent bench to sit on while keeping an eye on things, which matters more than you'd think. The surrounding park gives you room to wander if you fancy a walk after the kids have burned off energy.

It's free to visit, which is always welcome news. You could easily spend an afternoon here as part of a wider exploration of Gloucester's green spaces. If you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - The Glamping Orchard and Gables Farm Campsite are both within easy reach at around 4.5 miles away - you could pop over for an hour or so without it being a major expedition. Baldwin's Brook Glamping and Apple Orchard Camping are a bit further out but still manageable.

Weather-dependent, obviously. Go on a dry day and it's a solid option. Rainy Tuesday? Less so. Worth a visit if you're in the area with children, but don't go out of your way specially.
