Trill's Wood

A proper Sussex woodland that doesn't require booking or advance planning - just turn up and walk. Trill's Wood sits a few miles outside Heathfield and offers the kind of quiet, unmanicured forest experience that's becoming rarer round these parts. The paths wind through mixed woodland with decent tree cover, so it's genuinely pleasant even when the weather's being temperamental.

There's no visitor centre or facilities to speak of, which is either brilliant or annoying depending on your mood.
