Tout Quarry Reserve & Sculpture Park

The old Portland stone quarries have been transformed into something properly unexpected - a working sculpture park where contemporary art sits among reclaimed industrial landscape. You walk around grass-covered quarry floors, past blocky abstract sculptures and installations, with chalk-white cliff faces towering above. It's genuinely odd in the best way.

The reserve itself is run by Dorset Wildlife Trust and manages to balance art with nature rather well. You'll spot butterflies, birds, and wildflowers alongside the sculptures. Most people spend 45 minutes to an hour here, wandering the marked paths. It's free to visit, which makes it an easy detour from Weymouth if you've got an afternoon spare.
