Tisbury Swimming Pool

The outdoor pool at Tisbury is the sort of place you'd stumble upon by accident and think, why doesn't everywhere have one of these? It's a proper community facility - nothing fancy, just a straightforward swimming pool that serves the village well. You'll find families here on summer weekends, a few serious swimmers doing laps, and the occasional person wading through because it's warm and there's nothing else to do on a Tuesday afternoon.

The water's clean, the setting's unpretentious, and if you're staying at one of the nearby camping spots - Marshwood Farm or Chalke Valley are both excellent and close by - it's worth checking if you need a dip or the kids are climbing the tent walls. Being just a few miles from Salisbury means you can easily combine this with a day exploring the cathedral or heading out to Stonehenge, though the pool itself is really a local amenity rather than a destination in its own right.

Timing matters here. Summer holidays are rammed, obviously. Early morning or late afternoon tends quieter. The pool itself isn't massive, so if you're expecting an aquatic adventure park, you'll be disappointed.
