On a clear day you genuinely can see for miles. Come in summer or early autumn when the light holds longer and the midges aren't at their worst.

This suits walkers who want a straightforward two to three hours on their feet without navigating scrambles or technical bits. Families with reasonably fit kids will manage it fine. Solo hikers get a proper sense of solitude here without needing special equipment or navigation skills. It's not the sort of place you'll see postcards of, which means you'll likely have it to yourself.

Stirling itself has enough going on if weather forces a rest day. The Slacks works best as part of a longer Stirling area circuit rather than a standalone destination, but that's exactly how it deserves to be treated.
