The Model Village

A working miniature village scaled at one-twelfth real size, complete with tiny shops, a church, and even a functioning model railway. It's all been painstakingly built by hand over decades, and honestly, it's the sort of thing that sounds twee until you actually see the detail work up close. Someone has genuinely made a post office, a pub, a garage. There are working lights, moving figures, and intricate stonework that would take hours just to photograph properly.

Kids find it absorbing for a good hour or so, depending on their patience for small things. Adults tend to either find it delightfully eccentric or a bit much - there's no middle ground. History buffs appreciate the craftsmanship; families with young children under six might struggle with the "don't touch" rule that comes with anything this intricate.

It's located in Bourton-on-the-Water, which is practically made for family holidays anyway. The village itself is lovely for a wander along the stream.
