The leisure centre in Thame is exactly what it says on the tin - a proper sports facility with a swimming pool, gym, and courts for badminton and other activities. It's the kind of place you'd pop into if you're staying at one of the local holiday parks and need to burn off some energy, especially useful when the weather turns.The pool is the main draw for families. Kids can splash about while parents either join in or grab a coffee nearby. The gym appeals to anyone who'd rather not lose fitness during a week away, and there's enough court space to actually get a game of badminton going if your camping group fancies something competitive. It's functional rather than flashy - you're not coming here for luxury facilities or a spa experience.If you're based at Lashlake Barn, which is barely a mile down the road, or at Orchard View Farm further afield, this is genuinely handy. On a rainy afternoon or if the kids are restless, it fills a gap without requiring much of a drive. That said, it's not a day-long attraction. Two hours maximum, and you'll have seen everything. Thame itself is a proper market town with decent high street shops and pubs, so combine a leisure centre visit with a proper wander round town and you've got a solid half-day sorted. Worth knowing about when you're planning your park holiday, but not worth detouring for on its own.
