Family groups will get a solid hour or two out of it without breaking a sweat. Younger kids might find it a bit samey after a while - there's no play equipment or viewpoint to aim for, just trees and more trees. But if you're after somewhere to stretch your legs between attractions or need a morning's peace and quiet, Tewit Wood delivers. The path is manageable for most fitness levels, though it can get muddy in wet weather, so check conditions before you drag wellies from the caravan.

If you're staying at any of the nearby parks - Orchard Glamping is barely two miles away, or Gibsons Barn and Claylands are closer together at around four miles - you could easily slot this into a broader day without faffing about. It works best as part of a Preston area break rather than a destination in itself, but that's not a criticism. Sometimes a straightforward woodland walk is exactly what you need.
