Tayport Links Caravan Park and Larick Campsite, both about 2.4 miles away, make solid bases if you're spending a few days exploring Fife. They're well-rated spots with proper facilities, and from either you can easily reach the memorial and then head into St Andrews or Dundee without much faffing about.

There's no admission charge, which is fitting - it's a public memorial, straightforward and dignified. Go on a clear day when you can actually see across the river. The Tay in grey drizzle is atmospheric but less rewarding for the view.
