The brewery sits just outside Keighley, in the heart of West Yorkshire's moorland country, and it's the sort of place that rewards a detour if you're camping nearby. Stod Fold Brewing produces proper Yorkshire ales - the kind with real character rather than mass-market blandness - and they've set up a proper visitor experience rather than just a shop window.

You can tour the brewery and see how they actually make the stuff, which beats staring at marketing materials. The taproom is where you'll want to linger though. It's informal and genuinely friendly, the sort of place where locals and visitors mix without awkwardness. The ales are excellent - bold, unapologetic, and they taste like someone cared while making them.

For campers at Upwood Holiday Park or Hebden Bridge, this makes a cracking evening out. Families won't get much from it if the kids aren't old enough for a soft drink and a chat, but anyone who actually enjoys a beer will find themselves staying longer than planned.
