Stenton Mill sits quietly in Perthshire, the sort of place you stumble across rather than plan for, which somehow makes it more worthwhile.

You'll spend maybe twenty minutes here properly, thirty if you're sketching or photographing. The nearest sizeable place is Erigmore, a couple of miles off, which gives you a sense of scale. If you're staying at Erigmore Holiday Park or Inver Mill Farm just down the road, it's a decent leg-stretch in an afternoon, especially if you combine it with other walking routes through the wider area.
