The house itself is Victorian, red-brick and imposing, sitting on grounds that command proper views across Hampshire. Stansted Park isn't just about the building though - it's the grounds that make the trip worthwhile, particularly if you're staying at one of the nearby glamping spots like The Old Dairy Farm just down the road.

You get woodland walks, open parkland, and genuinely nice vistas without the fuss of somewhere too polished. The chapel on the grounds is worth a look, and the estate has that lived-in feel rather than museum sterility. Fair bit of space to roam around, which means kids won't be bored after forty minutes like they would be at some stately homes.

The place works well as a half-day outing when based near Emsworth. Combine it with a wander round the town's harbour - proper sailing village atmosphere - and you've got a solid afternoon sorted. It's close enough to Concierge Camping and Bow Hill Farm that you won't waste time in the car.

Admission details can be thin on the ground online, so ring ahead. Grounds access is usually the draw rather than the house interior, though both are worth experiencing if they're open. Bring proper shoes for the paths - they're fine but not manicured. It's the sort of place that rewards a slow potter rather than a rushed tick-box visit. Go on a clear day if you can; the views are genuinely better.
