A medieval church tucked away near Peterstone that's worth a quiet detour if you're already in the area. St Withburga's sits in that particular corner of Norfolk where villages feel genuinely removed from the modern world, and the church itself dates back to the 12th century - all flint walls and a sturdy round tower that's characteristic of East Anglia.

Inside, it's peaceful and simple. The kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think, which is rarer than it should be. There's genuine history here without the fuss of interpretation boards or gift shops. If you're into medieval architecture or just enjoy the calm of an old country church, you'll find it worthwhile. The churchyard's pleasant too, though there's not much to do beyond have a look around and take photos.

It won't occupy you for hours - budget thirty minutes at most - but it works perfectly as a stepping stone between other activities. If you're staying at Deepdale Camping or one of the other holiday parks nearby, it's close enough to pop into without planning a full expedition. Best visited midweek when there's zero chance of crowds. The surrounding villages are quiet and undeveloped, which is either exactly what you want or a bit too isolated, depending on your temperament.
