Croft's Wood

A decent woodland walk east of Peterstone, Croft's Wood offers the kind of quiet forest you can actually get lost in without worrying about mobile signal or crowds. The trees are proper old, mixed deciduous stuff - oak, ash, beech - and in autumn the floor disappears under copper leaves. You're looking at an hour's ramble if you take it slow, maybe ninety minutes if you want to sit on a log and actually notice things.
