This is one of England's finest Perpendicular Gothic churches, a proper statement of medieval ambition rising up from the flat fenland landscape like it's been plucked from a cathedral city and dropped into the marshes near Wisbech.

The craftsmanship rewards close inspection: you could easily spend an hour picking out the details, and the acoustics are haunting even with just the wind outside. It's the kind of place that makes you understand why people bothered to build something this ambitious here in the 1400s, even if you can't quite fathom the logistics.
