If you're staying at one of the nearby parks - Sandaway Beach, Watermouth Valley, or Newberry Valley are all within walking distance - it's an easy twenty-minute amble to include as part of exploring the town itself. Not a half-day activity, but a solid fifteen-minute stop that actually repays the climb up to the churchyard. Ilfracombe itself has enough fish and chip shops and coastal charm to make it worth the detour from wherever you're camping.
