The church sits right in the heart of Wadhurst village, an imposing sandstone structure that's been quietly doing its job since medieval times. You can't miss it - the tower dominates the high street and the interior is genuinely worth half an hour of your time if you're passing through.

Inside, the stonework is impressive. The nave feels properly spacious and there's real character in the details - old monuments, decent stained glass, and the sort of peaceful atmosphere you only get in places like this. It's not a show-stopper on the scale of somewhere like Bodiam Castle down the road, but it's a solid, honest parish church that tells you something about how people lived here centuries ago.

Families with older children will get more from it than the under-eights, frankly. There's no interactive stuff, so expect maybe twenty minutes of actual interest before they start getting restless. History types and church enthusiasts will linger longer, studying the memorials and architectural details.

It's free to wander in during daylight, which is handy if you're based at nearby Hopgarden Glamping and Camping - you can do a quick village loop without spending anything. The churchyard itself is pleasant for a stroll. Combine it with exploring Wadhurst's village shops and you've got a nice morning sorted, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it alone. It's a proper addition to a Sussex weekend rather than a destination in itself.
