St Mary's Church, Tickhill

The moment you walk into St Mary's Church in Tickhill, you're struck by how much is actually here. This isn't some modest village chapel - it's a proper medieval structure with a tower that dominates the skyline for miles around, visible from the A631 as you approach from Doncaster.

The church itself dates back centuries, and inside you'll find the kind of architectural detail that rewards a slow wander: ornate stonework, a decent nave, and enough historical atmosphere to keep anyone interested in medieval Yorkshire occupied for a good hour.
