Walk up from Atlantic Horizons or Roeys Retreat - both are close enough for a morning stroll - and combine it with a wander around Bideford's Georgian high street and quay. The church is free and genuinely interesting for anyone who appreciates local history without the tourist infrastructure. Kids will be bored within five minutes, fair warning. Walkers heading toward the Taw Estuary paths will find it a logical stopping point. Real value if you're spending time in the area, less so if you're just passing through.
