St Gregory

St Gregory is a proper little medieval church that sits quietly on the outskirts of York, easy enough to reach from any of the caravan parks dotted around the area. The building itself dates back centuries and carries the sort of worn stone and narrow doorways you'd expect from that era - nothing flashy, just genuine old England.

Inside, the main draw is the original Norman architecture and some decent stained glass work that catches the light on a clear day. It's the kind of place where you can actually stand still for five minutes without feeling rushed. No crowds, no gift shop, just you and a few centuries of local history.
