St George's Gardens of Rest is a proper oasis - rows of peaceful planted beds interspersed with flowering shrubs, benches tucked into quiet corners, and enough mature trees to make you forget you're in a town at all.

It's the kind of place you stumble upon by accident and end up staying longer than planned. The landscaping is thoughtful rather than showy; there's no entrance fee, no gift shop, no pressure. Walkers appreciate it as a respite mid-route. Families with young children find the space manageable and calm, though it's not a playground destination.
