The church sits on a gentle rise above Moreton-in-Marsh, which is where most visitors actually base themselves. St David's is a proper medieval parish church - nothing flashy, just honest stone and history. You'll find it tucked away from the main drag, which is half the appeal. The interior is surprisingly spacious for a country church, with a decent nave and some decent medieval bits if you know where to look. It's free to visit, and you can usually get in during daylight hours, though it's worth checking ahead if you're making a special trip.

This works best for two types of people. First, the church historians and architecture types who want to tick off another medieval building - the chancel's worth a proper look. Second, walkers doing the Cotswold Way or nearby trails who fancy a break. You'll spend maybe twenty to thirty minutes inside, longer if you're into reading every memorial plaque.

The real strength is how it slots into a wider Cotswolds exploration. Moreton-in-Marsh itself is pleasant enough for a night or two, and from the Experience Freedom Glamping site just down the road you could easily walk here before breakfast. If you're after something more substantial - yurts or proper campervans - Campden Yurts is six miles away and gives you proper countryside base. The church is atmospheric rather than essential, but it's exactly the sort of stop that makes a park holiday feel less like sitting in a field and more like actually getting to know a place.
