St Bartholomew's Church

The church sits in quiet Norfolk countryside, a 14th-century tower rising above the surrounding fields with real presence. Inside, St Bartholomew's is surprisingly intimate - high ceilings, pale stone, and the kind of stillness you only get in old churches where nothing's been rushed or modernised to death.

The real draw here is the walk itself. From Lowestoft it's manageable distance if you're in the area, and the approach through rural Norfolk gives you a proper sense of scale - this isn't some tourist-trap church wedged into a high street. You'll find decent medieval features if you're interested in that sort of thing, though it's not going to rival Norwich Cathedral by a long shot.

Families with restless kids might find an hour enough. Walkers will appreciate it as a stop-off point rather than a destination in itself. If you're staying at Haven Wild Duck Holiday Park nearby, it's worth the detour on a ramble through the countryside, but don't expect to spend all afternoon here.
