St Andrew's Church, Chale

You'll find this 12th-century church tucked away in the village of Chale, a few miles west of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight's southern coast. Grange Farm Camping and Cottages sits further out, but still within striking distance for a morning visit. It works best if you're genuinely interested in local history or prefer your Isle of Wight experience away from the seafront bustle. Day-trippers expecting Shanklin's pier energy will find it dull. Walkers and church enthusiasts will find it exactly right.
