Source of the River Clun

The source of the River Clun sits high on the moorland above Powys, where water emerges from boggy ground and starts its modest journey eastward toward Shropshire. It's not dramatic or showy - just a spring bubbling up from the peat, the kind of thing you'd walk past without thinking unless someone pointed it out. That's rather the appeal, honestly.

This is a walk for people who like their Welsh landscape raw and unprettified. No visitors' centre, no interpretive signs, just you and the hills. Most folks approach it from the Clun Valley side, making it a reasonable half-day outing from either Offa's Pitch Glamping or Smithy Park, both within easy striking distance. The walk itself is straightforward moorland rambling - allow an hour or so each way depending on fitness and how many times you stop to look back at the views.
