Skylark Maize Maze & Funyard

Somewhere between March and the flat Cambridgeshire horizon sits a working maize maze that actually changes shape every year. You're walking through towering stalks taller than most adults, trying to navigate to checkpoints while your phone's compass proves utterly useless. It's brilliant fun if you've got kids aged five to fifteen - the physical puzzle keeps them occupied for a solid hour without needing screens.

The funyard bit is smaller than you'd hope: a few inflatables, some games, nothing that'll keep a teenager entertained for long. The maze is the real draw. Bring water. The sun hammers down across those open fields, and there's nowhere to hide once you're in it. Peak season is July and August when school holidays hit, which means queues and crowds - early September is gentler if you can swing it.

Combine it with a walk around the local Fenland trails and you've got a proper day sorted. The maze itself is free to wander around once you've paid entry - they're not going to charge you twice.
